St Martin's Vision 2019

"Growing and going in the love of God"


To be a church of all ages, transformed by the love of Christ: partnering with our local community to nurture God's kingdom of welcome, hope, and social justice, for the flourishing of our community, city and world.


As followers of Jesus Christ we are called to worship God, cultivate community, live generously and make a difference.

Mission priorities 2019 - aligned with the diocesan vision "Growing Disciples Younger, Deeper, Wider"

Cultivating Community (includes Younger): This includes the reshaping of Sunday services with increased involvement of children and young people, recruitment of a Children and Families Minister, the reimagining and development of Messy Church and participation in the Young LIFE project.

Living generously and making a difference (Wider): This involves renewing our engagement in action for social justice, looking at living sustainably and our impact on climate change, participation in the OneLIFE mission, continuing our charitible giving programme and helping Sherwood support refugees.

Worshiping God (Deeper): This involves running Parenting4Faith courses, developing and multiplying small groups, developing 3rd Sunday evening services ans participating in RealLIFE.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen'
